If you're a minute late, she complains it's hard to wait;
If you come on time, for hours she makes you wait.
If you propose love within bried acquintance, you're a fresh guy;
If you postpone it till late, she wonders why.

If you fail to assist her in crossing the street, you lack ethics;
If you do, she thinks it's man's tactics.
If you're jealous, she says it's bad;
If you're not, she doubts your love and doesn't like it.

If you attempt a romance, she says you don't respect her;
If you don't, she says you don't like her.
If you listen, she wants you to talk;
If you talk, she wants you to listen.

If you kiss her always, you're abusing.
If you kiss her once in a while, she says you're cold and nothing.
If you contradict her, she does not like it;
If you don't, she thinks you're gullible.

SME Friday Madness

Today was a great day for me at SME Academy ( Sam-Sung Multi English ). I joined the recognition and it was a emotional. As expected I had my short moment of sadness. It was a recognition for Korean students who finished their study program. Instead of being happy, it seemed that everyone was sad since the students were crying while some of the Instructors offered a song. For me, it's so easy about meeting people, saying hello, getting to know...well, it's too easy, but saying goodbye....oh no! it's never easy and never will be...
I'm happy that the teachers made a difference in the lives of those students. They might not see each other again, but they they have great memories together.
For me I don't know what lies ahead. I'm still one week old in this profession. I don't know if my student would stay with me or transfer to another teacher. Whatever his decision will be, I won't promise that I won't be hurt, but I would understand him.

Fire and Ice

"Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice. "

Robert is one of my favorite poets. He uses symbolic words and though he was a troubled man, he is a master in writing poems. A brilliant man!
I like this short poem since it depicts about our behavior. Sometimes it's easier for me to act without thinking and thus I am just like the fire. Now, I learned to balance things. There are times when being 'fire' is easier since I like to let people know how I feel rather than keeping my feelings and hatred to myself and hating people without them knowing it. Actually, I rarely hate people. I don't have reasons to do so, I may be disappointed with them but I still see some good sides in every person so I learn so accept him or her and respect his being unique. I don't force people to see things the way I see them for we are created in our own unique ways. There are times when being an ice is wise. If the person I'm dealing with is already "fire" then I need to be the "ice" by shutting my mouth, though for me this is more destructive than fire. But unlike the author, I'm not contemplating about the idea of dying yet. I still have lot of things to do in this world. These two feelings are actually both destructive. This poem is not just about the end of the world. It's about life...love..desire...passion and hate...human as we are we are all capable of these emotions and we are also capable of self-control. So it's not a good excuse to say, "I'm just human... I'm not perfect...I lost control...I didn't have a choice.. etc" after doing terrible things, specially hurting other people's feelings, though it could be physically or emotionally. The result is basically the same.
Freezing to death or burning to death? both would be great and sufficient. It's up for us to choose. As spider man said, "We always have choices."

Having Fun in CNU

Our first day in school, with my friend Neriz at CNU ( Cebu Normal University ). It looks fun, but right now our problem is that we don't have a problem yet for our research proposal. If only research or thesis will be removed from the curriculum.

Well, today a student just went back to Korea and I didn't expect that since he just arrived last week. I don't know if there was really a problem way back in his home land. I think he was not able to adjust our lifestyle here in the Philippines. I just wish that he'll be successful in his decisions.

Tabuelan Festival 2007

In Philippines, it's been our tradition to celebrate festival. Each barangay celebrates its own Fiesta every year with different patron saint. The celebration always includes street dancing and of course the food. Last June 24 I attended a Festival at Tabuelan, somewhere in the Northwestern part of Cebu island. I had a great time together with my friend Neriz and her family. It was a very long drive but it was fun.Here are some of the photos taken during and after the festival at Tabuelan, Cebu.
