What is Gmail Error #721?

FINALLY! it's resolved after 7 hours. I was thinking of switching back to yahoo :)

Just this afternoon, June 26 at 4pm (Beijing Time)  I tried sending email to some of my contacts but all I got was, "Oops-a server error occurred and your email was not sent. (#721". Messages are not sending but I am receiving new messages.

Steps I did.
1. I've tried to log in and log out but it didn't help.
2. I tried switching from firefox to IE, google chrome and Safari, I thought it was a browser issue but still it didn't help.
3. I tried another gmail account. It worked!

I don't understand this at all, why my main account doesnt work when I'm only using 57% of the space?

Please help me...I desperately need to reply some important emails from my main account.

I posted this problem in google discussion forum, hoping that some google wizard will be able to solve this issue, after an hour I got people responding to my question with the same concern.

"I have the same error! and exactly the same thing is happening. I can send from another account but not my main account. Somebody help!" - natgerm-

" Exactly the same problem just now happening from my gmail account in Holland.
Just 30 minutes ago it was still working, now I get the 721 message and sending fails. Other gmail accounts still work....Any one?" -Mlvo123-

"I've been having exactly the same problem all morning.Very annoying. What can be done about it?" -Parvati-

  2. yes...I too had the same problem...but I kept bashing the send button and eventually my message was sent.

Still don`t know what a 721 error is, what causes it, or how to prevent it from happening, but brute force and ignorance prevailed.

  4. Hi..

I am also facing the same issue since 4.00 AM PST.

One round about way is to use iphone to send replies back to some urgent mails... it isn't a solution but least we can update the info :)

    Regards,
    Swetha

  5. Melbourne, VIC, Australia.
Experiencing this problem for 10 hours+ now.
They should be thankful it's Saturday, otherwise I would seriously consider dumping GMail forever.
I had to use Yahoo! to reply to my important messages...
No idea what 721 is, however, all I've figured out is Google are very ignorant.
It's on Twitter, Googling "721 gmail error" returns heaps of relevant results like your post, I've submitted an error report, and it's in their OWN support forums! How much more ignorant can they get!?

  10. Was having the same problem in Ontario Canada this morning. After several "Send" attempts I finally got my email out.
Seems to be a Google mail server issue, hope they fix it soon.

  11. Have the same issue in Durham, NC but worked around it by configuring my Gmail account in Entourage and my Apple mail both would send and receive Gmail plus forward to my iPhone. It'll have to do until Google fixes the issue.
