Today, I was so excited that dual-screen using our interactive projector worked smoothly. Also, I connected the document camera so I could show our OG blending board. I was so focused on the technology set up that I forgot to "carefully" select the right combinations of letters on the blending board. The word before "ship" was "hit." I flipped the card, and the "sh" sound was next! I was so quick to put the letter "t" away from the camera view before revealing the "sh" card to the kids. I was glad that I caught it before showing it to them. You know, some parents were watching my class too! It would have been a disaster!
When we ended the meeting, I went to the closet to get something. Then, I heard Mia asking, "Mommy, how do you say sh?" So I told her to say it like you're telling someone to be quiet. She sounded out all the letters on the blending board, and of course, she added the letter "t" at the end! She read the word correctly and ask, "What is "sh*t" mommy?" My quick reply was, "Why are you touching my stuff?"
I didn't really answer her question. I took the letter "t" out and asked her to read this word instead.
