These are My Favorite Childhood Memories:
1. Walking by the sea looking for toys and coins that are taken to the shore.
2. Swimming with my friends, from dawn to dusk specially on Saturdays Sundays.
3. Fireflies on some plants near the shore.
4. Fishing with my father.
5. Picking shells and diving to get some sea shells with my mother.
6. Crying because a crab has bitten my fingers.
7. Running away from a snake whom I accidentally stepped on.
8. Hunting with my brothers.
9. Playing marbles and rubber bands with my classmates.
10. Picking some small branches of trees for our firewood with my childhood friend.
11. Playing hide and seek.
12. Playing "patintero" under the moonlight.
13. Hanging around with my father when he and his friends would gather to talk and smoke together.
14. Helped my father set up the fishing net.
15. The first time I went fishing alone and caught many fish but when I decided to go home the wind was too strong that waves just grew doubled so I panicked and forgot how to maneuver the boat back to the shore and I lost all my fish when I jumped from the boat and swam back to the shore. I didn't realize that too many people were waiting for me and were scared that I couldn't make it. I thought of it as a matter of life and death but I was glad nothing bad happened.
16. Listening to my older sister and her suitor talking in our balcony.
17. Pretending to be asleep in the living room so my father would carry me to the bedroom.
18. Pulling grasses in our school playground before we were allowed to go home we should have a handful of grasses called "amor seko" it means dried love.
19. Sleeping in my teachers cottage.
20. Taking care of my garden in school because our teacher promised to give us a prize for the most beautiful garden, but she never did.
21. Having my mother chased me with a broom or coconut leaves for not coming home for lunch, I would usually spend all the days swimming when there were no classes. I didn't mind the beatings I love the water so much!
22. Going to town by boat to deliver some dried fish and when I went home the boat capsized so we all had to swim to the shore. Everyone in that community was good swimming so no one was hurt.
23. Selling homemade candies in school.
24. Listening drama from DYHP and real life love stories called "Handumanan sa Usa ka Awit".
