A New Friend, A Blessing

The web really makes many things possible. I remember I gave homework to my students last year. The question was too simple and that they had to email me their answer. The question was, "What Do You Think is the Greatest Invention in the World and Why?" I told them that there was no right or wrong answers. They can choose a simple thing as long as they will give a good reason for choosing that invention. The next day, I was surprised to see my mailbox with more than 50 new messages. So I started reading their answers. They gave a very good explanation for all their answers but most of them have the same answer. Many students think that the great invention in the world is the world wide web or the internet. They have different reasons for choosing this answer but majority of them said that the internet makes the world smaller and makes us keep in touch with family and friends. Yes, I definitely agree with all their answers. Some even mentioned that using the internet he was able to find a friend from another country and they still keep in touch through email and IMS. Now, I am too glad why the internet was ever invented. Human intelligence is such so great that things which we thought could not be possible before are now here. Many people enjoy the benefits of using the web. I am so thankful for this invention since I found my job here in China through the internet. But the most important thing is lately, I found a new friend which I consider to be a blessing. He's smart, thoughtful, sweet and humble(name it all). Thanks to this guy for contacting me via skype.
